Ryan Hussong, DDS
Dr. Ryan Hussong is passionate about bringing personal, comfortable, high-quality dental care to patients in Polk City and surrounding areas. Each year, he completes numerous continuing education courses, including advanced training in children’s, prosthodontic, and implant dentistry.

After receiving his bachelor’s degree in biology from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, Dr. Hussong went on to earn his dental degree from the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Iowa AGD.

Your family comes first at Cornerstone Dental, but outside of the office, Dr. Hussong’s family comes first! He also enjoys the outdoors, hunting, snowmobiling, and motor sports. A fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packers, football season gets special attention, as well.

Dean R. Hussong, DDS
Ever since middle school, Dr. Hussong knew that he had a passion for dentistry and wanted to pursue it professionally. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa in 1974, he accomplished his dream and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University Of Iowa College Of Dentistry in 1978.

Dr. Hussong makes continuing education the foundation of his career. Although he performs a full range of general dentistry services, he does have areas of special expertise. Dental implants, which were once considered the wave of the future, have become a routine component of his practice. He is one of the few general dentists qualified to perform all phases of the dental implant procedure, including the initial surgery and final restoration.
Dr. Hussong is a member of the American Dental Association serving as a trustee, board member and past chairman of the continuing education committee for his states dental association. He belongs to the American Academy of General Dentistry and various dental societies and study clubs. In 1989 Dr. Hussong was issued a patent for a dental suction device.

Chelsea joined our team as a Dental Hygienist in 2015, after graduating from DMACC with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She is also specially certified in local anesthesia and administration of nitrous oxide.

Chelsea is known for having a friendly, gentle touch and demeanor with all of her patients, and she thoroughly enjoys educating and motivating patients to reach and maintain their oral health needs and goals. She is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association and the Iowa Dental Hygiene Association.

Lesley, Dental Assistant
Lesley joined our team as a registered dental assistant in 2015. She attended the Des Moines Area Community College and earned a degree in Dental Assisting in 2014. Patients love her bright smile and friendly attitude. She loves getting to know her patients and seeing smiles on their faces when they leave. She has volunteered to teach kids during Dental Awareness Month and volunteered at the Iowa Special Olympics.
She is also an IMOM volunteer. She is originally from Deloit, Iowa and has a dog named Bowzer. Outside of the office she enjoys playing tennis, camping, fishing, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and Denver Broncos. Favorite quote: “Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.”
Jamie joined our team in 2013. She has certifications in radiography, infection control, CPR, and AED. Jamie loves being able to help patients feel better about their smiles and themselves.

Outside of the office, she loves spending time with her other half and three beautiful daughters. She also likes being outdoors and watching football. Favorite quote: “Every day may not be good, but there’s something good in every day.”
